Compassionate Counselling

We all experience crises at some time in our lives. It is usually helpful to talk to someone outside our immediate circle especially if that person can be empathic and is willing to listen to us in an understanding way.

I have considerable experience of being with people that allows me to bring qualities of empathy and understanding that creates an environment in which it is safe to explore whatever is troubling. This usually enables and assists others in gaining self-understanding on aspects of their life.

A personal approach

My approach to counselling is an existential person-focused that is based upon sympathetic understanding, positive regard of what makes us human. I believe all human beings have the resources within themselves for self-understanding.

The therapeutic process of counselling can help in accessing those inner resources with a view towards becoming happier and more whole human beings

I am experienced in working with people to enable them to find ways of contending with difficulties with life's losses such as death, redundancy, relationship endings, illness, loss of mobility retirement and loss of environment/culture.
